APPENDIX TO the CHAPITRE IV
PLEASURE OF THE WOMAN IN THE UNION
Vatsyayana discusses for a long time the opinions of the former ( ancient ? ) wise men the semen of the woman; we prefer to give the results of the modern science onto these questions so old.
In the union, the clitoris gets fat ( grows ? ) and raises itself ( draws up itself ? ); the big and the small lips swell; the erectile tissue of the vagina goes into action, incited by the friction; the vulvo-utérine mucous membrane secretes, together with glands, a sticky humor which returns the more slippery canal.
This secretion, although it sometimes appears under the shape of a milky fluid, is not a éjaculation, because the woman has no device to éjaculateur.
The pleasure, at the woman, is due, for the greater part, to prickles exercised on the clitoris, and, for the rest, to frictions produced on the walls of the vagina and the small lips, during the action.
If the sensual cramp has less violence at the woman, he ( it ? ) is more prolonged on the other hand than at the man.
The nervous women or in burning imagination try ( feel ? ) a very lively pleasure in the slightest prickle of the parts ( parties ? ). Any contact by the man impresses them.
The lymphatic, fat women, arrive at the venereal cramp only after long caresses and excitements of organs.
The Doctor Jules Guyot, _bréviaire of the Experimental love, _s'exprime so expresses on the subject, in his 3rd consideration.
« As long as the cramp is not determined in both parts ( parties ? ), the function ( office ? ) is not carried out; the man did not emit ( utter ? ) the alive fluid, the woman did not throw ( plan ? ) her limbs, in the womb, ovules with all the necessary energy. »
A determining cause of the cramp lives ( lies ? ) in udders and especially in titillations and suction of nipples.
Many girls consider allowed and allow their friends and sometimes their friends the titillation and the suction of their bosoms; their chastity is not frightened of it as of the touch of the secret parts ( parties ? ). It is what the doctor Gauthier calls the onanipumammaire, very common in boarding schools.
The felt impression ( printing ? ) determines constantly the erection of the clitoris; and the friction of this last organ, simultaneous in the suction or in the friction of nipples, brings inevitably the génésique cramp.
Rarely, the kiss with lips and in the mouth can produce the same result.
In the state of need and desire, vaginales lips of the woman are firm and vibrating, bosoms are inflated and nipples in erection.
If the woman does not present these signs, the man has to determine them by his caresses, and has to carry out the connection only when he succeeded in producing the desire at the woman.
In that case, he ( it ? ) begins by getting ( touching ? ) delicately the clitoris.
The clitoris is placed at the top and in front of the vulva, under two small lips, close and below the pubis or the mountain of Venus, in the superior corner of the big lips, as would be a button of violet hidden under the superior sheets ( leaves ? ); he ( it ? ) is short, and mostly is 2 or 3 centimeters long; it is some centimeters over the vagina, the canal from 4 to 10 centimeters in diameter which rises of the vulva to the matrix or the womb.
The vulva or the hallway of the genitalia of the woman opens from top to bottom by two membraneous folds placed on each side; it is the big and the small lips, these below those, that, by their natural accolement, form the hallway.
As a result of this arrangement, the penis, by getting into the vagina, gets ( touches ? ) only rarely the clitoris; but he ( it ? ) gets ( touches ? ) him ( it ? ) in the complete connection, by the contact and the outside friction of the superior surfaces of the penis and the subspubiennes parts ( parties ? ) of the woman; in other words, the penis which moves in the bottom at the top comes to shock or to press the head of the clitoris which always goes him ( her ? ) from top to bottom. In that case, the excitement of the clitoris communicates itself inevitably in all the rest of the reproductive organ of the woman.
When the vagina enters erection, either spontaneously, or by the excitement of the other organs, he ( it ? ) goes forward, half-opens and so favors the introduction of the penis which, if this introduction was inconvenient or rapes, could tear the walls of the vagina and hurt ( damage ? ) the woman in the neck of the womb.
« The matrix, » says Platon, « is an animal which moves extraordinarily when she hates or likes ( loves ? ) fervently something. His ( her;its ? ) instinct is surprising when by her ( its ? ) hasty movement she ( it ? ) approaches the member of the man to pull ( fire ? ) it of what to moisten and to get itself some pleasure [ 28 ].
[ Note 28: Cuveillier. - The matrix (put down ( frost ? )) or womb (utriculus, besides) is the organ of the gestation, the vase where occurs the fertilization by the virile semen of eggs untied ( removed ? ) from the ovary.]
If the parts ( parties ? ) of the woman do not enter erection, the penis moves in the vagina which remains insensible; in that case the only man tries ( feels ? ) a pleasure and the cramp, by the effect of the friction exercised on the internal walls of the vagina by the penis.
The man can so run out without that the woman tries ( feels ? ) no pleasure, because, either by ignorance of the nature of the woman, or by passionate rashness, he acts only on vaginales mucous membranes.
In these conditions, the woman remains cold, insensible, the often same she suffer; the man takes offence at his slowness, at his infertility, because she cannot conceive in this state.
From there are born the often mutual loss of fondness and the infidelity which ( who ? ) would be certainly avoided by reports ( connections ? ) better included between husband ( couple ? ).
It is doubtless to avoid these annoying effects which theologians allow and even advise the woman of touches on herself ( itself ? ) which compensate for the incapacity of the husband to determine his cramp and for, as much as possible, make it coincide with that of the man.
The matrix is situated in the excavation of the pond; his ( her;its ? ) axis, steered obliquely from top to bottom and of front behind, occupies the median line between the bladder and the rectum. He ( it ? ) is maintained in his ( its ? ) position by the round ligaments and the wide ligaments which, cowardly and flexible, allow him ( her ? ) to float, so to speak, in the excavation of the pond and to execute more or less spread ( widened ? ) movements there. It is for what we attract ( entice ? ) him ( it ? ) easily towards the vulva in certain surgical operations and, during the pregnancy, she ( it ? ) moves and rises in the belly.
